Welcome to The Countryside Forum’s Website

The organisation was originally founded in 1978 as The Standing Conference for Countryside Sports.  In 2018, the Forum brought its constitution up to date, recognising that its meetings should encourage a broader constituency and that it should disseminate to a wider audience the valuable content of each conference. In 2019 the organisation was re-launched as The Countryside Forum with an amended remit.

The Countryside Forum holds two conferences each year providing meetings which are impartial, objective and well-informed, at which the most influential organisations and individuals who shape the future of the countryside of England, Scotland and Wales meet to consider major issues. The conferences address all subjects which affect our countryside, including conservation, farming, wildlife and country sports. These conferences are normally held in London, but because of the restrictions resulting from the pandemic, the two most recent have been held online and they are available to be seen through the link on the Conference page of this website.

We welcome any expression of interest from organisations, groups or individuals who are genuinely concerned with the welfare of the countryside and all its activities.
